Masroor Rock (Masrur Rock) is perched high above the Hussainabad Village in the Skardu Valley. Offering a jaw-dropping panoramic view of Skardu City, the mighty Indus River, Kharpocho Fort, Sarfaranga Cold Desert, and the sky-scrapping mountains surrounding the valley.

Locals call it Masrur Rock Pakistan (also Masroor Rock) – it sits above the Hussainabad Village in Skardu. It is accessible through a half-day adventure hike uphill from the village.

MASRUR ROCK HIKE

The Masrur Rock Hike passes through fresh water streams, lush green pastures in the village, and a dirt and gravel steep patch with short rocky steps of the mountain. It takes almost 3 to 4 hours from Hussainabad to the Masrur Rock. You will also encounter Hussainabad Waterfall on the way to the rock, which feels like an oasis in the desert.

Masroor Rock Pakistan recently gained popularity due to its unique formation resembling the Trolltunga Rock in Norway and the panoramic view of the Skardu Valley that it offers from the rock. It was discovered by the local photographers when they were exploring the Hussainabad Village for some good shots.

How To get to the Masrur Rock Pakistan:

  • Drive from Skardu to the start of the trail at the Hussainabad Village.
  • Start your trail from Hussainabad, which leads to the rock. It is highly recommended to hire a local guide, as there may be different paths leading uphills.
  • Hike up to the Masrur Rock Pakistan. Start early in the morning, around 7-8 am, for cooler temperatures, and there will be fewer people on the trail.
